St. Charles, Mo. - The University of Tulsa men's golf team placed seventh in a field of 15 teams at the Purina Classic at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Course in St. Charles, Mo.
The Hurricane scored rounds of 289-291-289 for a 54-hole total of 869, 12 strokes behind team champion Arkansas State. Rounding out the top-five teams were Missouri, Purdue, Baylor and Kansas.
Tulsa was led by sophomore Neil Trimm's fourth place performance with rounds of 69-74 on Monday and a three-under round of 68 today for his 211 total, two strokes under par for the tournament. The fourth-place finish by Trimm is the best of his career. His previous top collegiate finish came at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate earlier this season when he placed 30th overall
Senior Kevin Henry carded rounds of 73-71-74 for a five-over par 218, while sophomores Chris Noel and David Inglis turned in rounds of 222 and 223, resepectively. Noel placed 42nd, while Inglis finished in 47th place, which marked the only time in his two years that he has placed outside of the top-20. Junior Billy Lowry carded a 230 total for 71st place, while redshirt freshman Aaron Bell finished in 78th place, playing as an individual.
Tulsa will be back in action next week at the Duke Golf Classic, October 14-15, in Durham, North Carolina.
