Tulsa's Dulaney, McLaughlin Earn Verizon Academic Honors

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa linebacker Michael Dulaney (Turpin, Okla.) and defensive end Drew McLaughlin (Midwest City, Okla.) were named to the 2001 Verizon Academic District VI Football Team, as announced by CoSIDA.
Dulaney, a junior, has maintained a 3.85 grade point average in sociology. He completed the season with a team-leading 93 tackles, including 11 stops for -46 yards. Dulaney, a transfer from Oklahoma, returned to the playing field this year after sitting out the previous two seasons.
McLaughlin has a 3.60 grade point average in accounting. He finished his senior season with 81 tackles, including 13 stops for -57 yards, while also adding a team-best five quarterback sacks for -27 yards. McLaughlin completed his career with 189 tackles and 21 tackles for lost yardage for -97 yards.
The pair is now eligible for Verizon Academic All-America honors.
