Tulsa's McLaughlin Earns Second-Team All-WAC Honors

Senior defensive end Drew McLaughlin earned second-team all-WAC honors.

Denver, Colorado - University of Tulsa defensive end Drew McLaughlin (Midwest City, Okla.) earned second-team all-Western Athletic Conference honors as announced today by the league office.

McLaughlin finished his senior season with 81 tackles, including 13 stops for -57 yards, while also adding a team-best five quarterback sacks for -27 yards. Against Hawaii, McLaughlin totaled 10 stops including five tackles for -14 yards, one sack for -4 yards and one forced fumble. He had a team-high 12 tackles and one stop for -12 yards against New Mexico State.

McLaughlin, who was also Verizon Academic all-district selection this season, completed his career with 189 tackles and 21 tackles for -97 yards in lost yardage.

Six Tulsa players earned honorable mention all-WAC merits including four on offense and two defensive players. Senior receiver Donald Shoals, sophomore tight end Jarrod Roach, senior offensive tackle Kevin Shaffer and sophomore running back Eric Richardson earned offensive honors. Honorable mention defensive players for the Hurricane included a pair of juniors, tackle Sam Rayburn and linebacker Michael Dulaney.
