Surface and Vullum compete at the Stanford Invitational

Palo Alto, Calif. - The University of Tulsa track squads only sent two athletes to the Stanford Invitational on Saturday, however the two made the most of the trip. Seniors Tim Surface and Fride Vullum both set personal best marks for the 5,000m, with Vullum setting a new school record.
Finished 10th in the field of 78, Vullum's time of 16:18.11 topped her previous best mark of 16:52.86 set back in 1998.
Surface finished 69th out of 126 runners with a personal-best time of 14:50.70, only five seconds off a school record. With his time, he moves from fourth to third fastest on the all-time TU chart. His previous best mark for the 5,000m was a time of 15:06.13 during the 1999 season.
