Hurricane Teams Compete in Euler State Farm/ESU Relays

Junior Mary John-Williams finished fifth in the long jump on Saturday at the Euler State Farm/ESU Relays

Emporia, Kan. - With part of the team taking part in the Texas Relays, a partial squad made the trip to Emporia, Kan., for the 2001 Euler State Farm/ESU Relays on Saturday.

Freshman Jason Krueger led the squad with a second place finish in the high jump. His leap of 2.03m (6'8") was his best of the season and only two inches off the school record.

Another top-five finisher for the Golden Hurricane was junior long jumper Mary John-Williams. She finished fifth in the event with a jump of 5.54m (18'2.25"). She holds the school record for the event with a jump of 5.56m last season.

The next competiton for the Hurricane will be on Saturday, April 14, at the Bank of Fayetteville Open in Fayetteville, Ark.
