Final Round Quotes (May 2, 2001)

Tulsa Head Coach Bill Brogden:
"This is the best team we've had since 1995. I'm very pleased with the guys. I thought this would have been a chance to get over the hump. We have a special team. I tried to tell them that if you're having a tough time, so is everyone else."

"David is a wonderful player and a neat guy. He knows how to win. I'm really happy for him, and I'm happy that he's at Tulsa."

"It was a very tough day. You have to control your emotions, and we didn't handle that as well today."

TCU Head Coach Bill Montigel:
"I'm really proud of my team. We were very fortunate. Aaron Hickman played great today. We had four birdies on the last hole. The guys played strong coming in. The course played hard today as the wind and greens were brutal."

"This victory is huge. Obviously, it is one of our goals to win the WAC Championship. We were very fortunate, and when you get four birdies on the last hole you're lucky. It was a total team effort. Our guys came out and played extremely well under adverse conditions."

Tulsa's David Inglis (Individual medalist):
"For us to play hard and lose by one shot, it is hard to think that they were better than us. It means a lot to come out in my first year to win two tournaments with one being the WAC Championship. We are disappointed. It was our fourth second-place finish this year. We do good and get into position, but we can't seem to finish it out."
