Tulsa Men's Soccer to Host Vanderbilt this Friday

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa men's soccer team will host the Vanderbilt Commodores at 7:35 p.m. this Friday in Missouri Valley Conference action at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex. There is no charge for admission.
Tulsa (8-5, 2-2 MVC) is 4-2 overall and 1-1 in league games at home this season. The Golden Hurricane will play its final two home matches of the regular season this weekend against Vanderbilt and on Sunday against Western Kentucky.
TU freshman Ryan Pore leads the Hurricane in scoring with nine goals for 18 points, while sophomore Kyle Brown is second in scoring with 13 points on four goals and a team-high five assists.
Vanderbilt (2-11, 0-4 MVC) is 1-3 on the road this season and enters Friday night's contest mired in a five-game losing streak. The Commodores last win was a 2-1 victory at Lipscomb on September. 27. VU's only other win was a 1-0 victory over Belmont in the season opener on August 30.
The Golden Hurricane leads the series with Vandy, 3-1, and is 1-1 against the Commodores since both teams became members of the Missouri Valley Conference in 2000. Tulsa recorded victories in the series in 1985 (1-0), 1989, (8-2) and in 2000 (5-2). The Commodores edged the Hurricane, 2-1, in overtime last season.
