Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Fresno State women's tennis team and the SMU men's tennis team both captured their second Western Athletic Conference tennis titles today at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at The University of Tulsa.

The top-seeded and 25th ranked Bulldogs (16-5) defeated third-seeded SMU (16-12), 4-0. Fresno State captured the first point of the match, winning two of three doubles matches. Using the momentum from the doubles point, the Bulldogs won the singles matches at the first three doubles positions.

Freshman of the Year and first team all-WAC honoree, Chloe Carlotti clinched the match for the Bulldogs with a, 6-4, 6-4, win over SMU's Jenny Langer. With the win, the Bulldogs avenged last season's loss in the finals to TCU, 4-2.

Top-seeded SMU (18-12) took home its second WAC Championship with a 4-1 win over second-seeded Tulsa. The last time the Mustangs won the title was in 1998, also in Tulsa.

The 42nd-ranked Golden Hurricane (16-11) started strong winning the doubles point behind the first team all-WAC team of seniorsDane McGregor and Shriranga Sudhakara at the top spot and at the No. 2 position with junior Ryan Livesay and sophomore Dustin Taylor, 8-6

The Mustangs took control in singles play winning at the Nos. 1-3 and No. 5 slots. Johan Brunstrom, a first-team all-WAC honoree, clinched the match for the Mustangs with a 7-6, 6-3 win over McGregor.

All four teams now await the announcement of NCAA Regionals.
