Tulsa Football Continues Preparations for No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners

Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa football team returned to the practice field on Sunday from a day off to continue preparations for the season opener against the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners this Friday, August 30. Game time is 7:00 p.m. This is the first time that the Sooners return to Skelly Stadium since the 1987 season.
The game will be played in front of a sold-out stadium and an ESPN national television audience Tickets have been sold-out since August 19.
Tulsa announced the team captains on Sunday after players voted late Friday. Representing the offense is senior center Anthony Taylor (Tulsa, Okla.) and sophomore quarterback Tyler Gooch (Tulsa, Okla.). Taylor, a former walk-on, has started the last 21 games for the Hurricane. The defensive captains are senior rover Keithan McCorry (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and senior tackle Sam Rayburn (Chickasha, Okla.)
The Hurricane will continue with closed practice workouts on Monday. Classes begin Monday for The University of Tulsa.
