Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa Head Football Coach Keith Burns was pleased with the first workout of the Golden Hurricane incoming recruiting class, as 21 newcomers went through two 90-minute practice sessions at Skelly Stadium on Tuesday.
"I'm excited with the way things went on the field today, and the new guys were just as excited to get started," said Burns. "They prepared themselves for college football the best way they knew how, and it showed.
"They were enthusiastic and eager to learn. Now, they have to learn the system and try to create an identity as a class and team," added Burns.
The newcomers withstood 98-degree temperatures in the afternoon.
The Tulsa newcomers will be back on the practice field twice on Wednesday. The first practice session is scheduled for 9:15 am, followed by the afternoon workout at 3:45 pm. The varsity reports on Wednesday, but will not practice until Friday.
