WAC Announces Football All-Academic Honors

Senior Michael Dulaney received All-WAC Academic honors for the second time.

Tulsa, Okla. - The 2002 academic All-Western Athletic Conference football team was announced by the conference office today. Eight student-athletes, of the 53 named to the team, were from The University of Tulsa, making TU the third-highest represented school in the WAC.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 grade point average and have participated in fifty percent or more of the team's contests.

Senior Michael Dulaney received All-WAC Academic honors for the second time, earning a spot his junior year. Dulaney was also named to the Verizon Academic District VI Football Team and the Verizon Academic All-American second team this year. He was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in 2000 and the Dean's List in 2001, as well as earning an All-Big 12 Academic selection in 1999 while with The University of Oklahoma.

Also selected to the team for the second time is quarterback James Kilian and safety Max Kraus who earned WAC All-Academic Honors last year. The duo has also been on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll the last two years.

Earning WAC All-Academic honors for the first time is senior safety Terrell Siegfried, junior offensive lineman Matt Black, and sophomores: tight end Caleb Blankenship, defensive end Cory Hathaway and linebacker Brendon Swisher.
