Tulsa, Okla. - Rightfielder Kristin Vesely took the second pitch of the game over the left center field fence to help spark an 11-hit attack by the University of Oklahoma in an 8-0 victory over The University of Tulsa on Tuesday night. A crowd of 923 at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex witnessed 24th meeting of in-state rivals.

Shortstop Kelli Braitsch hit her 10th home run of the season, while starting pitcher Kami Keiter helped her own cause with her fourth home run of the year. In the pitching circle, Keiter kept the Hurricane bats at bay pitching a perfect game through the first three and a third innings. TU's Stephanie Sliepen broke up the perfecto bid with a walk in the fourth inning. The Golden Hurricane would manage only two other base runners, stranding both.

Freshman Dana Askins pitched the final two innings for the Sooners, combining with Keiter on the no-hitter. Keiter picked up her 25th win on the season in 29 decisions, while striking out five in five innings of work. The tandeum did allow two TU walks.

For the Hurricane, freshman Maren Genow was saddled with the loss, falling to 13-7 on the year. Genow struck out five Sooners in 5.1 innings pitched. Sophomore Ami Day pitched the final five outs with three strikeouts.

Tulsa will return to Western Athletic Conference play on Saturday, with a doubleheader against Louisiana Tech. The TU Student Alumni Association will sponser 50-cent hot dog day at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex, with the first game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
