Tracksters Look To Continue Successful Season at Drake Relays

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa track teams will send a selection of runners to the 94th Annual Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. Senior hurdler Jamese James will look to become TU's first defending champion at the Drake Relays. James won the 400-meter hurdles last season, and is one of five competitors at this season's meet who have regionally qualified.
Junior sprinter Shana Robinson will put the nation's ninth best time for the 100-meters on the line; while sophomore Owain Matthews will be one of top runners in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with the nation's 12th-best time. Also qualified for the Midwest Region and competing in Des Moines, will be senior hurdler Branon Vaughan in the 400-meter hurdles. Vaughan holds the region's 15th best time for the 400m hurdles.
Also competing at the Drake Relays will be Andy Norman in the 5,000-meters. Fellow senior Sarah Haskins will be competing on the women's side of the 5,000-meters as well. In addition to three relay teams on the women's side, sophomore Natalie Rasmussen will compete in the 10,000-meter run.
