Tulsa, Oklahoma - The Tulsa football team practiced twice on Friday, going in full pads in the morning and shells for the evening practice.

The Hurricane worked on situational football on offense and defense in the morning, and worked a lot of situations in special teams in the evening practice.

"We worked on more situations during the morning practice -- goal line situations, third down situations," said Head Coach Steve Kragthorpe. "Our installation is almost complete from a base offense and base defense standpoint, so now we started to work on more situational football in the morning with offense and defense.

"Tonight we worked on a lot of special teams situations -- onside kicks, taking a safety, teams that shift from a punt formation into an offensive set that we have to defend that. We're trying to expose our players to all those little situations that come up in a game," added Kragthorpe.

The Hurricane will be on the field just once on Saturday. Tulsa will scrimmage tomorrow afternoon with practice beginning at 2:00 p.m., and the scrimmage beginning at approximately 2:15 p.m. The scrimmage is open to the public.
