Tulsa's Alexander Named WAC Defensive Player of the Week

Sophomore Kedrick Alexander was named the WAC's Defensive Player of the Week for his performance on Saturday against Texas State.

Denver, Colorado - University of Tulsa defensive back Kedrick Alexander was selected as the Western Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week, as announced today by the league office.

Alexander, a sophomore from Plano, Texas (Plano HS), had nine tackles including eight solo, one pass breakup and an interception in Tulsa's 41-15 win over Texas State. Alexander returned the interception 18 yards to the Texas State 22-yard line that led to a Tulsa touchdown.

On the year, Alexander leads the Hurricane in tackles with 24 stops. He has 18 unassisted tackles and one stop for a three-yard loss.

The conference honor is the first for Alexander and also the first this season for the Hurricane.
