Beard Wins 5,000-meters at Razorback Invitational

Fayetteville, Ark. - Redshirt freshman Andrew Beard headlined The University of Tulsa track contingent by winning the 5,000-meter run on Friday night at the Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. The two-day meet will continue on Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Complex.
Beard, a native of Joplin, Mo., posted a time of 16:10.25. Fellow freshmen Louis Dailey and Matt McClurg also finished second and third, respectively in the high jump. Dailey improved on his first collegiate measurement with a 1.95m (6'4.75") leap. McClurg posted a 1.85m (6'0.75") jump.
The women's distance medley relay team posted the fourth fastest time in school history to finish second with a time of 12:09.82. Senior Shana Robinson finish second in the 200-meters with a time of 24.35. Junior Paula Richardson finished fourth in the 200-meters with a mark of 24.65. Freshman Ashley Ast recorded TU's second-ever score in the Pentathlon with 2,352 points to finish fourth.
