Hardy Finishes Ninth in 800-meters at Tyson Invitational

Fayetteville, Ark. - Junior Melanie Hardy led the Tulsa contention at the Tyson Invitational with a ninth place finish in the 800-meters in a personal-best time of 2:10.39. Not only was the time the best for a Hurricane runner in that event this season, it was also the second best time in school history for the 800-meters.
Senior Shana Robinson finished tied for ninth in the 60-meters with a time of 7.51 and 18th in the 200-meters with a time of 24.10. Also competing in the 200-meters, freshman Chantelle Willard finished 40th with a time of 25.21, just edging out senior Chatney Noble who finished 42nd with a time of 25.24.
Junior Paula Richardson finished 31st in the 400-meters with a time of 56.53, while senior Mikaela Montell finished 16th in the mile run with a time of 5:08.48.
On the men's side, senior Owain Matthews finished 10th in the seeded 3,000-meters with a time of 8:24.95.
The Golden Hurricane will conclude the meet on Saturday in the Randal Tyson Track Complex in Fayetteville, Ark.
