Robinson Wins 100-meter Dash at 2004 Tiger Relays

Baton Rouge, La. - Senior Shana Robinson won her second consecutive 100-meter dash on Saturday at the 2004 Tiger Relays in Baton Rouge, La. Coming off her win at the Tulsa Duels one week earlier, the sprinter clocked a time of 11.67 in the finale.
Robinson was also part of the women's 4x100-meter relay team that broke the school record for that event with a time of 45.41. The team finished third while also qualifying for the NCAA Regional meet with its time. The previous school record was set last year with a time of 45.48.
Also setting a school record on Saturday was freshman javelin thrower Ashley Ast. With a throw of 43.52 m (139'06"), Ast surpassed her own school record of 40.16m (131'09") she set last week at the Tulsa Duels. Ast finished ninth overall at the Tiger Relays this week.
The men's top finisher was freshman Cory Ray. The sprinter from Tulsa finished 13th in the 100-meters with a time of 10.85. The men's distance medley relay team also finished seventh with a time of 10:24.27, while the men's 4x400-meter relay squad finished sixth with a time of 3:17.56.
