Orozco Wins 5,000-meters at TCU Invitational

Ft. Worth, Texas - The Univeristy of Tulsa men's and women's track teams participated at the TCU Invitational on Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas.
For the women, freshman Ashley Ast placed second in the javelin with a throw of 143-2, while junior Melanie Hardy finished in fourth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:13.81. Senior Shana Robinson clocked a time of 23.81 to place fifth in the 200-meter dash. In relay action, Tulsa's 4x100 meter relay team finished in second place in a time of 46.19, while the 4x400 relay team clocked a fourth-place time of 3:50.62.
On the men's side, senior Ben Orozco won the 5,000-meter run in a time of 15:32.91, while sophomore Taylor Williams clocked a time of 15:48.93 for fourth place in the same event. Freshman Jacob Chavez finished in fifth place in the javelin with a personal-best throw of 180-2.
