Ast Wins Javelin to Lead Hurricane at Missouri Relays

Columbia, Mo. - Freshman Ashley Ast won her first collegiate meet at the Tulsa Duels. For the second time this season the Conway Springs, Kan., native won the event, this time at the Missouri Relays in Columbia, Mo. With a throw of 40.69m (133-06), Ast out threw 18 other competitors.
Senior Shana Robinson won an event at her third consecutive meet, winning the 200-meters with a season-best time of 23.54. She won the 100-meters at her previous two meets of the season. The women's 4x100-meter relay team also won gold in Columbia, as the squad ran a time of 46.06.
On the men's side, junior Jamal Bogle finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 14.91. the men's 4x800-meter relay team also finished well, with a second place finish running a time of 7:49.84.
Also setting season-best marks were junior Paula Richardson with a time of 24.44 in the 200-meters. Senior Ben Orozco finished fourth with a time of 3:56.61 in the 1,500-meters to lead three Hurricane runners setting season-best marks. Freshman Jason Pugh and Taylor Williams also set season-best time in the event with times of 4:15.15 and 4:16.68, respectively.
In addition to his season topping time in the 110-meter hurdles, Bogle also improved his time in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.43.
