Tulsa's David Inlgis leads the Hurricane after the first day of competition at the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate

Raleigh, North Carolina - After two rounds at the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate, the Tulsa men's golf team sits in 13th-place in a field of 15 teams. The Hurricane shot a 36-hole total of 591 at the par-72 MacGregor Downs Country Club course on Friday.

Tulsa carded rounds of 298 and 293 on the first day of competition in the 54-hole event. For the Hurricane, senior David Inglis had the best day with rounds of 74-72 for a two-over par 146 and is in 23rd place, followed by freshmen Mitch Cohlmia in 31st place with a 148 total and Sam Korbe in 36th place with a total of five-over par 149.

Tulsa senior Chris Noel, the individual medalist at last year's tournament, carded rounds of 78-72 for a 150 total and is in 46th place overall. Another freshman Brett Myers fired identical rounds of 76 for a 152 total and is in 63rd place.

The nation's top-ranked golfer, Bill Haas of Wake Forest, is in first place with an 11-under par score of 133 after shooting rounds of 64 and 69. Haas holds a three-stroke lead over the closest challengers.

Kansas has the team-lead with a 562 total, followed by Duke (565), Minnesota (575), Wake Forest (577) and North Carolina State and SMU (578) rounding out the top-five teams.

The final 18 holes will be played on Saturday.
