C-USA Announces Football Cross-Over Opponents

Irving, Texas - Conference USA has determined the 2005 and 2006 cross-over opponents for football, Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced today. The scheduling model, which was approved during the Athletic Directors meeting last week, calls for each team to play four home and four away games in league play. In addition to playing every team in its division once, each school will play three games against opponents from the opposite division. Cross-Over Opponents

The new format will be the basis upon which the complete 2005 and 2006 schedules will be constructed. Exact game dates will be determined at a later date. Beginning in 2005, Conference USA will conduct a football championship game between the champions of the East Division and West Division. The championship game will be held at the school with the highest Conference winning percentage.
