Tulsa Men's Golf Team Places Fifth at Tulane Invitational

New Orleans, Louisiana - The Tulsa men's golf team placed in a tie for fifth-place at the Tulane Invitational on Tuesday. The Hurricane team, composed of all sophomores, carded a 54-hole total 897 at the par-72 English Turn Golf and Country Club.
Tulsa carded a final round 296, its best round of the two-day tournament, and finished just four strokes behind the tournament champion. Notre Dame won a playoff against UNC-Wilmington to claim the team title, as both teams shot a tournament total of 893. Southern Mississippi and South Alabama tied for third-place with 895 totals. Tulsa and Mississippi tied for fifth place, followed by Tulane (900), Middle Tennessee (906) Southeastern Louisiana (907) and New Orleans (908) rounding out the top-10 teams.
Individually, Tulsa's Mitch Cohlmia finished in a fifth-place tie with a five-over par 221 total. He carded a final round 75 on Tuesday to register his best tournament finish of the season. Brett Myers turned in his fourth top-20 performance this year with a 16th place finish after carding an eight-over par 224 total.
Sam Korbe turned in a 28th place finish with a 227 total after today's round of 74, while Ryan Henry had Tulsa's best individual round of the tournament with a one-under par 71 score. Austin Hackett shot a 76 total in the final round.
Tulane's Michael Thompson won the individual title with a two-under par 214 total.
Tulsa is back in action next week at the Louisiana Classics, March 7-8, in Lafayette, Louisiana.
