Tulsa Opens Track and Field Outdoor Season at Home

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa men and women's track team will begin the 2005 outdoor campaign by hosting the Tulsa Duels at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on Saturday, March 26, 10:00 a.m. with the field events, starting with the javelin. The running events will begin at 12:45 p.m. with the 4x100-meter men's relay. Men will compete first in each event followed by the women.
Arkansas-Little Rock, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts and Southwest Missouri State will join Tulsa in the duel meet.
Tulsa is coming off of a productive indoor season that saw the Hurricane establish school records in eight events. Senior Melanie Hardy also earned All-America honors at the NCAA Indoor Championships two weeks ago. Sophomore Cory Ray and Senior DeVonne Harrison medalled in the 60-meter dash and the 60-meter hurdles, respectively, at the WAC Indoor Championships.
There is no admission charge for the track meet.
The Golden Hurricane will also host the 2005 WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 11-14, at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
