Freshman Thomas Stoltz earns WAC Athlete of the Week honors.

Denver - Freshman Thomas Stoltz was named Western Athletic Conference track and field athlete of the week for the week of March 20-27. Stoltz recorded a first place finish at the Tulsa Duels with his throw of 211-4 feet.

Stoltz, from Phoenixville, Pa., turned in an NCAA Regional qualifying mark in the javelin with a throw of 64.42m (211-4) at the Tulsa Duels. The throw was the second-best outdoor mark in school history, and the best throw in 44 years for the Hurricane since George Wallace's 64.92m (213) mark in 1961.

Stoltz's mark is among the top-10 throws in the country this season.
