TU Men's Tennis Rolls On, Beats TCU

Ft. Worth, Texas - The No. 44-ranked Golden Hurricane men's tennis team posted its third straight win as it beat the No. 39-ranked TCU Horned Frogs, Sunday afternoon at the Bernard J. "Tut" Bartzen Varsity Tennis Courts at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center, 4-3. Tulsa improves to 14-8, while TCU drops to 5-11.
TCU got out to an early lead as they won two of the three matches in doubles competition to win the doubles point. Lucques Maasdorp and Ricardo Soriano posted TU's lone doubles win by defeating Radu Barbu and Jacopo Tezza, 8-3. Aleksander Charpantidis and Achim Roth lost to the No. 13-ranked doubles team of Rafael Abreu and Fabrizio Sestini, 8-5.
In singles action, Federico Soriano posted the first win for the Golden Hurricane as he beat Barbu, 6-2, 6-1. Diego Camacho defeated Jordan Freitas, 6-4, 6-2. Ricardo Soriano dropped Tezza in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. Will Gray won his 28th match of the season with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win over Abreu.
Charpantidis lost to No. 20-ranked Sestini, 6-4, 5-0.
Tulsa returns to action Wednesday, April 6 in Norman, Okla. against No. 59 Oklahoma at 6 p.m.
