Pre-Game Festivities Abound for Tulsa Homecoming Game

Tulsa, Oklahoma - When the Golden Hurricane football team returns home to host the Memphis Tigers this Saturday, in Tulsa's inaugural Conference USA game, plenty of festivities surrounding the Homecoming contest will be ongoing. The pre-game festivities will begin at 3:00 pm. Game time is 6:00 pm.
Tulsa is coming off of a 54-2 road win at North Texas last week, while Memphis comes into the game with a 1-1 record after capturing a 59-14 win over Tennessee-Chattanooga last week. The Tigers are led by Heisman Trophy candidate, DeAngelo Williams, at running back, while the Hurricane features All-America candidate at tight end Garrett Mills.
Two stages will feature live music, as the Gold Stage is located on 11th Street. The Sweeny Campbell Band will perform on the Blue Stage (8th street). Eleventh Street between South College Ave. and S. Gary Place will be closed down for the street party.
Hurricane Alley, on the east side of Skelly Stadium, will feature interactive and inflatable games for kids. Hurricane Village at Hurricane Alley will feature a beer garden and various foods. Tailgate Alley is located on 8th Street. In addition, the first 5,000 fans in the gates will receive a Golden Hurricane Football schedule magnet.
The University of Tulsa Student Association together with TU student-athletes will be collecting cash donations at the gate entrances for the Conference USA Hurricane Relief Fund. These funds will be distributed to C-USA member institutions Tulane and Southern Miss. Once those schools are taken care of, any additional resources will be sent to the American Red Cross to distribute to Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama communities in need.
Tickets for the Tulsa-Memphis game can be purchased by calling the TU athletic ticket office at 918-631-GoTU (4688) or online at www.tulsahurricane.com. Ticket prices are $9, $14 and $22.
The gates will open at 4:30 pm for the Homecoming Game.
