Tulsa Golfers Place Fifth at First Spring Tournament

Tucson, Arizona - The Tulsa men's golf team finished in fifth place in a 16-team field at the PING Arizona Intercollegiate on Tuesday. The Hurricane carded rounds of 284-280-286 for a two-under par score of 850 to tie Pepperdine for fifth place.
BYU captured the team title with an 18-under par score of 834, while Arizona State and Arizona tied for second-place with nine-under par totals of 843. New Mexico finished in fourth place at 848.
For the Hurricane, junior Mitch Cohlmia finished in fifth-place with rounds of 69-68-69 for a seven-under par 206 at the par-71 Arizona National Golf Course. Rounding out the scoring for Tulsa was junior Brett Myers in 21st place with a 215 total, while fellow juniors Ryan Henry and Sam Korbe tied for 35th place with 218 totals. Freshman Nicolas Geyger finished with a 220 total for 46th place.
On the day, Cohlmia had the best day with a score of two-under par 69, while Korbe carded an even-par 71 and Geyger turned in a round of 72.
Arizona's Henry Liaw defeated Arizona State's Alejandro Canizares for the individual crown with an eagle on the fourth playoff hole. The two were tied with Texas' Matt Mills after 54 holes with nine-under par 204 scores.
Tulsa is in action next at the Gator Invitational, Feb. 18-19.
