Edmond, Oklahoma - The Tulsa men's golf team is in second-place, one stroke behind first-place Ohio State, at the Inaugural Oklahoma Intercollegiate. The Hurricane carded an opening round 305 at the par-71 Oak Tree Golf Club course on Sunday afternoon.
Senior Sam Korbe's one-over par 72 in first day action ties for second place in the individual race. Arkansas' Andrew Landry is one stroke better to lead the field with an even par 71. Korbe is tied with LSU's Chris Wells.
Fellow Tulsa senior Brett Myers and freshman Nicolas Geyger are tied for 14th place after shooting rounds of six-over par 77. Seniors Mitch Cohlmia and Ryan Henry shot rounds of 79 today and are in 21st place in the field of 46 participants.
Red-shirt freshman Ryan Brooks, playing as an individual, is in 42nd place with a round of 84.
After Ohio State and Tulsa, LSU is in third place followed by Arkansas, Oklahoma, Michigan, SMU and Baylor.
Play will continue on Monday with second round action.
