  • This was 13th meeting between Tulsa and Rice; the Owls lead the series 7-4-1. Tulsa had won the last three meetings. Steve Kragthorpe is 3-1 against Rice.

  • Tulsa seniors, linebacker Nick Bunting and offensive tackle Jeff Perrett, have started in 45 consecutive games.

  • Paul Smith's first completion for 36 yards to Courtney Tennial for a touchdown was the first time Tulsa had its first pass completion of the game for a TD since doing it against Tulane on November 19, 2005, when Paul Smith threw 48 yards to Ashlan Davis on the first play of the game.

  • This was 4th time this year Tulsa has been down at halftime. Games were at BYU, home against UTEP, at Houston, and home against Rice.

  • Tulsa trailed by 13 points at halftime, the most they have trailed by all year. It is most that Tulsa has trailed by since the Minnesota Game on September 1, 2005, when Tulsa trailed by 21 points, 24-3 at halftime.

  • The four turnovers against Rice was most turnovers this season, the last time Tulsa had four or more turnovers was against Louisiana Tech on November 13, 2004 when Tulsa had four fumbles and two interception.

  • Tarrion Adams rushed for 116 yards; it was the first time a Tulsa running back rushed for more than 100 yards since the Southern Miss Game on October 3, 2006, when Courtney Tennial rushed for 120 yards.

  • Ryan Bugg had 145 receiving yards; it was the first time a Tulsa receiver had a 100 yard receiving game since the Navy Game on September 23, 2005, when Idris Moss had four receptions for 104 yards.

  • Tulsa had a running back and receiver with over 100 yards, it was the first time that has occurred since the Liberty Bowl on December 31, 2005; when Tarrion Adams had 102 yards rushing and Ashlan Davis had 128 yards receiving.

  • Running back Courtney Tennial had three touchdowns (two rushing and one receiving) his first three touchdown game since he rushed for three rushing touchdowns against Memphis on October 21, 2005.

  • Tulsa had three fumbles lost; the most fumbles lost since Tulsa lost four fumbles against Louisiana Tech on November 13, 2004.

  • This was Tulsa's second overtime game of the season, they also went to overtime against Navy on September 23, 2005, winning 24-23. This is the fifth time in school history Tulsa has played in overtime, with their record being 2-3.
