Tulsa Adds Four Sophomore Transfers to Football Roster

Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa Head Football Coach Steve Kragthorpe confirmed today that four transfers will join the Hurricane roster as Tulsa players report to preseason camp on Friday.
Three junior college transfers including receiver Nick Henderson, linebacker Jeph McAlester and deep snapper John Warren, as well as University of Arkansas transfer Zach Snider, a tight end, will come in as sophomores.
Henderson, McAlester and Warren are eligible for the upcoming season. Snider is expected to sit out this season after his transfer, but is awaiting the possibility of an NCAA waiver allowing him to participate this season. All four players will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Hurricane.
Henderson (6-0, 175) played one season at Coffeyville Community College and caught 11 passes. He had over 800 yards receiving and six touchdowns in his three-year prep career at Sumner (Kan.) Academy.
A linebacker from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, McAlester (6-3, 225) started his only season and earned honorable mention All-America merits in 2005. As a prep star, he was a four-year letterwinner at Tulsa's Booker T. Washington High School and was credited with 159 tackles and seven blocked punts his senior season, while also earning 5A-3 Linebacker of the Year accolades.
Warren (6-0, 215) played fullback and was the deep snapper at Glendale Community College last season. He helped his team win the NJCAA National Championship and registered an 11-0 record last year. Warren was a three-year letterwinner and starter at North Canyon High School where he played fullback and linebacker and recorded over 1,000 all-purpose yards his senior season.
Snider (6-3, 240) played in 10 games as a red-shirt freshman defensive end at Arkansas last year, where he totaled 11 tackles and 2.5 stops for -11 yards. He played his prep football at Tulsa Union High School where he tallied 401 career tackles at linebacker. Snider was rated as the No. 10 player in Oklahoma by Rivals.com and was named the Tulsa World State Player of the Year his senior season.
