TU Men's Soccer Team Dominates John Brown, 7-1

The University of Tulsa men's soccer team dominated John Brown University, 7-1, on Wednesday night in exhibition play at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium on the TU campus.Golden Hurricane senior Matt Thomas struck first, putting one into the net from 18 yards out in just the second minute, but the Golden Eagles' Jerry Carcamo tied the game from 12 yards out on a break away.
Tulsa controlled the second period, punching in six more goals, and on the night out-shot John Brown 28-1. Red-shirt freshman Adriel Adibi knocked in two goals, both of which were unassisted, while juniors Eric Burkholder and Brian McCurdy, and freshmen Hunter Christiansen and Kilian Poeschk added one goal apiece.
"I was happy with our performance tonight," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said. "We worked on our defensive press after the first scrimmage and tonight we showed progress. We also did really well coming off the bench."
TU will take on Missouri State in Springfield, Mo. on Saturday, August 19th beginning at 7:00 p.m.
