Joplin, Mo. - Tulsa track and field finished day one at the Missouri Southern Invitational at the Leggett & Platt Athletics Center in Joplin, Mo., with three school records and additions to TU's all-time list in all four events the Hurricane competed in.
The TU women only participated in three events on Friday, all field events, but they definitely got their money's worth, posting a school record mark in each event.
Caitlin Clancy continued to tear apart the pole vault record book by clearing 11-5.75 and setting the school record for the third consecutive week. Her efforts earned her first in the event.
Margaret Glover found her stride in the long jump, recording a leap of 19-1.50 to break her own school record by one-quarter of an inch and finish second in the event.
Stephanie Jeffers finished up for the women by winning the weight throw with a school record toss of 58-11.50 to break the record she posted earlier this year.
On the men's side, the only event in action was the long jump.
Kyle McGillen leapt into third on the all-time TU list with a jump pf 22-10.50 to finish second, followed closely by Rob Nickels who climbed to fourth all-time with a jump of 22-8.50 to finish third.
Thomas Stoltz and Cory Pixley rounded out the competitors and posted jumps of 21-5.50 and 20-10.00, respectively.
Competition at the Missouri Southern Invitational will continue through Saturday night.
