Tulsa Wins At UCF, 3-1

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa volleyball squad defeated UCF once again in four games, however the order was a little different. In the previous two meetings between the Golden Hurricane and Knights, TU won the first two games then dropped the third stanza before closing out the match in the fourth game. On Friday night however, TU dropped the opening game before winning the final three games, 3-1 (28-30, 30-26, 30-24, 30-22).
Senior Fabiola Nepomuceno led the Hurricane with a match-best 25 kills. Fellow senior Julia Silva recorded her league-best 19th double-double with 11 kills and 45 assists. She was one dig away from a triple-double. Freshman Emma Ridley also recorded double-figures in kills with 13. Three Hurricane defenders posted double-digit dig performances, led by freshman Jessie Ayers' 13 digs. Juniors Malorey Grove and Kelsey Wood added 12 and 11 digs, respectively.
Tulsa (17-5, 5-2 C-USA) now travels to Southern Miss for another Conference USA clash with the Golden Eagles on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
