Edmond, Oklahoma - The Tulsa men's golf team is in 10th place following the opening round of the Oklahoma Intercollegiate at the par-71 OakTree Country Club course.
The Hurricane carded a first round total of 321, while 19th-ranked Texas A&M leads the field after posting a score of 12-over par 296. Texas Tech (299), Arkansas (305), Baylor (305) and SMU (307) round out the top-5 teams.
Tulsa freshman Ville Vaisanen had Tulsa's only sub-80 today with a five-over par 76 and is in an eighth-place tie with 36 holes remaining. Nicolas Geyger carded a round of 80, followed by Rob Laird's 82 and Ryan Brooks' 83 as the four counting scores for the Hurricane today.
The second round takes place on Monday, while the tournament concludes on Tuesday.
