Henshaw, Becker Smash 3,000m Records

Tulsa, Okla. - The University of Tulsa's Edwin Henshaw and Alex Becker each posted school record runs in the 3,000m run at the Tyson Invitational at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
Becker posted a second place finish in the race with a time of 9:19.10, which is both the TU record and an NCAA provisionally qualifying mark.
Henshaw finished fourth in his race with a time of 7:58.82, also posting both a school record and an NCAA provisionally qualifying mark.
At the ISU Classic the rest of the Tulsa track and field squad finished a strong weekend.
Lewis Timmins posted an 8:16.49 in the 3,000m to finish 12th and to climb to third on the all-time TU list, while Jerrod Landress clocked a 48.53 to climb to fourth on the all-time list in the 400m.
On the women's side, Stephanie Jeffers nearly matched her weight throw school record by tossing a 55-11.75, while Dawn Nagazina moved into fifth on the all-time list in the 800m with a time of 2:11.89.
Golden Hurricane track and field will next be in action on February 23-24 when they travel to Houston, Texas, for the Conference USA Indoor Championships.
