Tulsa Golfers Finish Sixth at Hackler Championship

The Tulsa men's golf team finished sixth in a field of 18 teams at the General Jim Hackler Championship in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. The Golden Hurricane carded a final round of 292 for an 872 total.The nation's 11th-ranked Lamar finished in first-place in the team race with a 54-hole total of 838, 10 strokes ahead of second-place #8 Coastal Carolina (848). Rounding out the top-five teams were #5 Southern California (851), #23 Duke (868) and #12 East Tennessee State (869).
Tulsa freshman Nicolas Geyger claimed a 23rd-place finish overall with a score of 217 after today's round of 72. Senior Ryan Henry finished in 27th place with a 218 score, followed by classmate Brett Myers in 42nd place with a 221 total. Senior Mitch Cohlmia and Sam Korbe recorded 47th- and 51st-place marks, respectively.
East Tennessee State's Rhys Davies finished in first-place individually with a 10-under par 206.
Tulsa will be in action next at the Morris Williams Intercollegiate on March 26-27, in Austin, Texas.
