Henshaw Sets New 5,000m Record

Des Moines, Iowa - The University of Tulsa's Edwin Henshaw opened competition at the prestigious Drake Relays by toppling the school record in the 5,000m, posting his own time of 14:07.88.
Henshaw smashed the old record by nearly eight seconds, and is the first record the men have broken this outdoor season.
The Hurricane also featured three other runners in the 10,000m. Eric Harris posted the best finish with a run of 30:55.21 to finish ninth and move into fourth on the all-time TU list in the event.
Jay Matlack followed close behind with a time of 30:58.25 to finish 10th and move into fifth on TU's all-time list.
Patrick McConnell rounded out the Hurricane runners, clocking a 31:22.08 to finish 24th.
Golden Hurricane track and field will continue with action from the Drake Relays April 27-28 in Des Moines, Iowa.
