Irving, Texas - The University of Tulsa has three golfers named to the inaugural Conference USA All-Academic Team for 2006-07, it was announced today by the league office. Three senior members from the Golden Hurricane roster - Mitch Cohlmia, Sam Korbe and Brett Myers - have been named to the C-USA All-Academic squad.

The all-academic team for men's golf consists of five student-athletes that have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and played in 60 percent or more of their team's rounds this season.

The trio are all two-time selections to the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor and all three earned C-USA Golfer of the Week honors during the 2006-07 season.

Cohlmia was a two-time Golfer of the Week, most recently following an individual win at the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate in Cary, N.C. He also tied for medalist honors at The Landfall Tradition in October. A native of Tulsa, Cohlmia has a 72.7 stroke average for the season and a 3.56 GPA in finance.

Korbe was a two-time selection to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Team in 2005 and 2006. Last year, he was an all-Conference USA first team selection and was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America second team. Korbe has been named to Tulsa's Ultimate Team, an award that goes to the top student-athletes based on academics, athletics, campus involvement and community service in each of the last two years.

The Springdale, Ark. native won the Oklahoma Intercollegiate in October and has six top-20 finishes, including four in the top-5, this season. A bio-chemistry major, Korbe has maintained a 3.76 GPA.

Myers leads TU with the lowest stroke average on the season (72.6). He fired back-to-back rounds of 68 on his way to winning medalist honors at the UCF/Rio Pinar Intercollegiate in February. Myers also won C-USA Golfer of the Week honors twice during the season. Another Tulsa native, Myers has posted 14 career top-20 finishes during his career, with six top-15 performances this season.

The other two academic team selections were UTEP senior Colby Lindsey and Memphis' Brad Benjamin.

These five and many other outstanding student-athletes are gearing up for the 2007 Conference USA Men's Golf Championship, which will be held April 29-May 1. This year's 54-hole event is being hosted at the par 72, 6,935-yard Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Ark.
