Jeffers, Gilfillan Wrap TU Action at NCAA Midwest Regional

Des Moines, Iowa - The University of Tulsa's track and field teams finished competition at the 2007 Midwest Regional Championships on Saturday with Stephanie Jeffers earning a 12th place finish in the discus, while Ashlea Gilfillan nabbed a 17th place finish in the 3,000m steeple chase.
Jeffers finished the discus with a throw of 155-2 to earn her 12th place finish after finishing third in her flight. This was her second event of the weekend, having throw the shot put on Friday and finishing 10th.
Gilfillan finished the 3,000m with a time of 11:08.11, earning her a 17th place finish overall, but a fourth place finish in her flight.
Tulsa has already qualified two athletes for the NCAA Championships with Edwin Henshaw and Alex Becker each earning bids after top-five finishes on Friday in the men's and women's 5,000m, respectively.
Official announcements for athletes earning berths into the NCAA Championships will be announced on Tuesday, May 29, at 2 p.m. on ncaasports.com.
