Becker, Henshaw Advance to Finals at NCAA Championships

Tulsa's Alex Becker advanced to the final of the 5,000m after finishing sixth in her heat on Wednesday.

Sacramento, Calif. - The University of Tulsa's Alex Becker and Edwin Henshaw each automatically qualified for the final in the 5,000m after finishing in the top-six in their respective heats late Wednesday night at the NCAA Championship Meet in Sacramento, Calif.

Henshaw finished fifth in his heat with a time of 14:31.30 to move on the final, which is set for Friday at 9:45 p.m. (CT).

Becker finished sixth in her heat after turning in a 16:07.54 and moves on to the final which is set for 10:10 p.m. (CT) on Friday.

Stephanie Jeffers is slated to begin her competition when the qualifying round of the women's shot put begins on Thursday at 9:15 p.m. (CT).
