Tulsa Volleyball Bounces Back with Sweep of UTEP

El Paso, Texas - The University of Tulsa volleyball squad ended a two-game losing streak on Sunday, with a 3-0 (30-27, 30-17, 30-18) victory over UTEP in El Paso, Texas. The win evens Tulsa's Conference USA record at 2-2, while the Golden Hurricane improves to 14-5 overall on the year. UTEP falls to 6-10, 0-5 in C-USA play.
Freshman Emma Ridley led the Hurricane attack with a season-high 18 kills, while seniors Fabiola Nepomuceno and Julia Silva contributed 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Silva posted her 16th double-double of the season with 39 assists as well. The trio nearly out hit the Miners by themselves with 40 kills among them, compared to UTEP's 41 kills as a team.
Junior Malorey Grove led TU with 17 digs, while freshman Nicole Boyle added 16 digs as well.
Tulsa returns to the friendly confines of the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Friday and Sunday, October 5th and 7th, by hosting Houston at 7 p.m. on Friday and Rice at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
