HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Markel Humphrey provided a spark for Marshall in his first game back from injury, scoring 12 points Wednesday in a 72-65 overtime victory over Tulsa.

Humphrey, who missed three games with a hairline fracture in his right ankle, scored 10 of his points in the second half on 5-of-7 shooting.

Trailing 53-51, Tulsa's Calvin Walls forced Marshall's Mark Dorris into a jump ball which resulted in a critical turnover in the closing seconds of the second half.

After Walls was blocked out of bounds by Wilkerson, he missed an open 3-point shot on the inbounds pass with 5.8 seconds left on the clock. But Ben Uzoh tipped his shot in to send the game into overtime.

Marshall (11-8, 3-3 Conference USA) grabbed the lead in overtime on a Dorris 3-pointer to go ahead 59-57 after both teams traded baskets in the opening minute. From there, Marshall built its largest lead of the game to nine points on 9-of-13 free throw shooting to hold off Tulsa.

Tyler Wilkerson led Marshall with 16 points. Matt Walls added 10 points and Tirrell Baines scored 12 points.

Tulsa (9-9, 1-5) was led by Ray Reese with 13 points. Jerome Jordan added 11 points.
