TU's Davidson To Race in NCAA Finals

Des Moines, Iowa - University of Tulsa red-shirt freshman Mark Davidson clocked a time of 3:43.32 in today's preliminary 1,500-meter run at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. Davidson is just one of two freshman to advance to Saturday's NCAA Championship race which begins at 4:24 p.m.
Texas' Leonel Manzano turned in the fastest time of the day, 3:41.70, but all 12 advancing student-athletes finished within a 2.16-second window.
Davidson qualified for the NCAA meet by finishing in fifth-place with a time of 3:43.89 at the Midwest Regional earlier this month.
The native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has turned in a spectacular season with two Conference USA titles, as he won the Indoor 3,000-Meter Run and the Outdoor 1,500-Meter Run.
