Tulsa, Oklahoma - In an effort to keep fans updated with the latest information on the happenings around Tulsa Golden Hurricane Athletics, The University of Tulsa athletics department will debut on Twitter this Friday, May 15.
Twitter pages are updated with "Tweets" (messages sent via Twitter) that contain up-to-the-minute official breaking news from the TU athletic department.
You can receive Tulsa Hurricane updates via Twitter through the Web, on your mobile phone or through e-mail. Whichever way you choose, you will always stay up-to-date with the Golden Hurricane.

Tulsa fans can add the Twitter pages to their own blog, Facebook page or other social networking sites. More information on how to do this can be found here.
"This is another way to reach out to our Tulsa fans, and even those who are just sports fans in general," said TU Athletics Director Bubba Cunningham. "We want to be able to inform our 'followers' with breaking news and special events more efficiently and quickly."
In August, Tulsa athletics will also unveil a Facebook page for all Tulsa fans. TU Athletics has had a Facebook page for TU students the past two years, but will expand that social networking outlet to include a page for all TU fans.
"These social networking sites give us a new avenue to reach our fans. Now people can see a quick update of what is happening in TU Athletics no matter where they are and both of these sites are a great tool in getting the word out about TU Athletics," added Cunningham.
