Tulsa Men's Golf Team Finishes Fifth at ORU Shootout

Broken Arrow, Okla. - The University of Tulsa men's golf team finished in fifth place at the ORU Shootout after firing a final round 314 total on Tuesday afternoon at the Golf Club of Oklahoma in Broken Arrow, Okla.
The Golden Hurricane completed the tournament with a three-round 926 total, finishing behind champion Texas State (902), Missouri State (912), Sam Houston State (920) and Stephen F. Austin (921).
Tulsa was in first place after firing a 299 first round total on Monday, but followed that up with a 313 in the second round and a 314 in the final round.
Senior Rob Laird finished in a tie for 11th place overall after shooting a five-over 77 in the third round for a 13-over par 229 total. Sophomore Andre' Tourinho placed 14th with a 230 (+14) total and Arie Fauzi finished 21st with a 233 (+17) total.
Tulsa is back in action this Sunday, Oct. 4, when they head to the Windon Memorial in Chicago, Ill.
