- Tulsa won the toss, and deferred.
- The win was the first over a BCS team since a 1998 win (35-20) over Oklahoma State. Tulsa had lost 19 straight wins over BCS schools until today.
- Tulsa scored on its first possession for the fifth straight game, after not scoring on its first possession.
- Curnelius Arnick's 98-yard defensive PAT touchdown was the first time that Tulsa has had a defensive PAT score since Oct. 6, 2007 when Nick Henderson ran back a 100-yard interception against UTEP.
- Tulsa had its second interception returned for a touchdown this season, as Shawn Jackson took a pick-off 66 yards. The first this year came against Oklahoma State when Marco Nelson ran an INT back 81 yards.
- Damaris Johnson had his second career punt return for a touchdown. He had a 59-yard punt return for a TD in the third quarter against Notre Dame. His previous punt return for a touchdown came in the 2009 season opener at Tulane, a 66-yarder.
- Tulsa has gone over 200 yards rushing for the fourth time this season - the other games were UCA (282), Memphis (233) and Tulane (332).
- Damaris Johnson had his 14th career 200+ all-purpose yardage game, and the second this season. His first this year came in the season opener, 299 yards against East Carolina.
