Tulsa Faces Indiana in NCAA Tournament Second Round

Tulsa's 23rd-ranked men's soccer team will take on 20th-ranked and 14th-seeded Indiana in the NCAA Tournament second round on Sunday, Nov. 21st. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. Central at Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington, Ind.
TU advanced to the second round after tallying a 2-0 win over Bradley on Thursday, while IU received a first round bye.
The Golden Hurricane is playing in the NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament for the fourth-straight year and seventh time in school history, including appearances in 1991, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2009, and has a 7-6-1 mark in tournament play. Last year, TU advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to No. 1 Akron.
Tulsa has outscored its opponents 41-23, and has taken more than 100 more shots and 50 additional corner kicks. The Golden Hurricane is led by senior Ashley McInnes who has a team-best 11 goals and four assists for 26 points. Junior Austin Neil has 20 points off of nine goals and two assists, while classmate Corey Albertson has three goals and a team-high five assists for 11 points. Ray Clark has logged over 1,400 minutes in goal, picked up 59 saves and has four shutouts on the year.
Indiana has recorded a 9-7-2 overall record this season and claimed the Big Ten regular season title. The Hoosiers are led by Will Bruin with 16 goals and three assists for 35 points. Andy Adlard and Alec Purdie also have double-digit points with 17 and 11, respectively. Luis Soffner has logged the majority of time this season between the posts, earning 40 saves and three shutouts. IU is making its 24th-straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 35th overall. Indiana has an NCAA-best .742 (76-25-4) winning percentage in the tournament, while the 76 victories is also tops in the NCAA. Indiana has appeared in 17 College Cups, which leads all Division I teams, and won seven national titles, most recently in 2004.
The Hoosiers have won both previous meetings with Tulsa, including a 4-0 decision at Indiana in the 2004 NCAA Tournament quarterfinals and a 2-1 overtime victory at the 2006 SMU Classic.
