TU Lettermen's Association Hosts Fall Letter Awards Presentation

Tulsa, Okla. - The TU Lettermen's Association hosted the Fall Letter Award Presentation on October 11, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the President's Suite located in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The evening began with a welcome from Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham followed by remarks from TU Lettermen's Association President Mark Wojciehowski, awarding of Letters and a special video to end the evening entitled "Honor of Receiving a TU Letter" featuring former TU letter winners Ellis Jenkins (Basketball 1953-1955), Sara (Dyer) Whaley (Softball 2004-2008) and Brandon Diles (Football 2003-2006).
Six Golden Hurricane athletic programs were represented with letter jackets and blankets given out by Women's Basketball Coach Charlene Thomas-Swinson, Men and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Assistant Coach Debbie King, Softball Coach John Bargfeldt, Women's Rowing Coach Kevin Harris, Men's Tennis Coach Vince Westbrook and Women's Tennis Coach Dean Orford. In all, over 45 student-athletes received their Varsity Letter Award for the first time on a jacket or blanket during this special evening.
The next Student-Athlete Letter Award Presentation will take place in Spring, 2011.
