Tulsa, Oklahoma - University of Tulsa football student-athlete Charles Davis has been granted a medical hardship waiver for the 2009 season, school officials learned today from Conference USA. Davis will play his senior season in 2010.

Davis, a three-year letterwinner and two-year starter, suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear to his left knee against Oklahoma in the third game of the 2009 season.

The 5'10" defensive back from Fort Worth, Texas, has played in 42 career games with 29 starting assignments. Davis has tallied 171 tackles, 12 pass breakups and two interceptions in his career.

Before suffering the injury a year ago, Davis had 16 tackles, including seven stops each against Tulane and New Mexico in Tulsa's first two contests. He had two tackles against Oklahoma before going out with the injury in the first half.
